How does FFS Beauty work with sustainability?

  • Regardless of how often you shave, it can take up to 1000 years for one disposable razor to biodegrade in landfill. The US Environmental Protection Agency estimates that 2 billion plastic razors are thrown away each year. Unfortunately, though modern razors were first made entirely of steel, the plastic handle was introduced in the early seventies, as a cheaper alternative for manufacturers and disposable use.

Since most razors cannot be recycled because they are made from mixed materials, we are left with minimal options.

Thankfully, FFS Beauty offers a personalised razor subscription that, upon initial purchase, includes a reusable handle, and recyclable blades. Once they receive the blades back, they are stored safely until enough has been collected. They are then ground down to break the materials apart. The metal and plastic elements are then separated… and all components are then ready to be recycled.

  • We have been using FFS for years now, and cannot recommend them highly enough - we still use the same handle, blade protector, and travel case, and have also found their blade recycling scheme incredibly easy.

Without a standardised framework across the industries we research, DELAH adopts a qualitative approach to measuring the social value of a brand. We conduct thorough analysis, looking specifically for relevant certifications, to determine the social, environmental, and ethical impact of a brands range of products and/or services.

Our commitment to quality is reflected in our standards. DELAH does not endorse brands, products, or services who fail to acknowledge, understand, or address their impact. All items or services featured in the #DELAHSustainable portfolio transparently demonstrate responsibility socially, environmentally, and ethically.

While we strive to ensure the integrity of the brands we highlight, it is important to note that DELAH is not liable for any actions or misconduct by the brands we endorse. Our evaluations are based on the information available at the time of review.

Responsible luxury exists, and DELAH exists to bring those products and services to light.
